Congratulations to Nydia on the publication of her first book ‘Revival’. Nydia Blas is a visual artist who uses various mediums including photography, collage and videos to convey her stories that concern values and power. As a result, she is able to create a physical and allegorical space through the perspective of Black women. The space functions as an extension of the body, and evolves through the subject’s resilience, self-discovery and exploration.

Nydia Blas currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She works as a freelance photographer for many clients including The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The New Yorker. In addition, she is an assistant professor in the Department of Art and Visual Culture at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
