Thai Mainhard is an abstract painter that works and lives in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Thai draws inspiration from human experiences and tension found in daily life and her own memories of it. Her dense colors combined with loose mark making are expressive of that pull she feels to the untouchable and what can be seen, the play between spiritual and real, components that actually make up our lives that are more tangible than we realize. She aims to capture in her paintings a fragment of what life could look like in an ideal world without any intensional representation of physical objects. In her opinion, that is what makes abstract art so powerful.
