Over the Influence is excited to announce Verapat Sitipol ’s solo exhibition Magical Forest in the Parisian gallery space.
This exhibition is the Thai artist’s second show with the gallery and celebrates his debut in Europe.
The new series of paintings featured in Magical Forest continues to explore the artist’s fascination with the natural landscape. His immense respect for Mother Nature and the environment highlights his spiritual ideology that everything is interconnected, as well as his painterly aesthetic that the external world is filled with abundant beauty and life truths that are best expressed with a paintbrush and a vibrant palette.
“My aim is to create a painting that reflects my experience of walking through the forest. Often getting lost in unpredictable moments creates a sense of joy, bravery, and calmness. These limitless experiences always challenge me to keep the position of my creative goals, whether appreciating the beauty of nature, or searching for their inherent value amidst it all”, he said.
Verapat Sitipol (B. 1980, Bangkok, Thailand) graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in painting from Silpakorn University of Thailand. He obtained a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in painting at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, India in 2006.
His first solo exhibition “The Image of Land” was in 2004 at the Academy of Fine Art in Kolkata, India. In the same year his group exhibition “National Exhibition of Art 49th” was at the National Gallery in Bangkok, Thailand. Since then Verapat has exhibited several times individually and collectively.
The artist’s abstract paintings explore the powerful relationship between line and color. He feels that the symbolic exchange between the realistic and the artistic opens many channels for inspiration within his artwork. He has exhibited worldwide for over 15 years.
